03/22/2008 On March 22nd, 2008, several young drivers from
Music City Speedway took to the high banks of Riverview Speedway
located on Cumberland River in Carthage, TN. MCQMRA was invited
by Riverview Speedway to come out and spend the day at the
track for their grand opening. The club felt it would be good
to get into the racing community with the drivers and their
cars.
"The QM
drivers arrived at the track around noon to begin the
afternoon by setting up 2 of their cars by the front entrance
and 3 cars by the grand stands."
The QM drivers arrived at the track around noon to begin
the afternoon by setting up 2 of their cars by the front entrance
and 3 cars by the grand stands. The cars where a big hit with
both the parents and the other kids. Every child that came
to the races that day sat in the cars and talked to the drivers.
It was a fun day for all involved.
Riverview Speedway told us we were welcome back anytime and
the kids are already asking "when can we go back?".
MCQMRA would like to thank the owners and the officials of
Riverview Speedway. You truly are good people and you made
a day at the races unforgettable for these drivers!!! Thanks
so much!!

The best part of all was at intermission because earlier
in the day we were asked if the kids would like to take some
laps around the track. Of course the kids could barely contain
themselves. Finally intermission came(much to therelief of
the parents).
"The smiles
on their faces said it all! Riverview Speedway told us
we were welcome back anytime and the kids are already
asking "when can we go back?"
The kids were instructed (by the handlers) to stay in single
file around the track. (yea right!) One by one they filed
out onto the track like they had done it a thousand times.
They started out slowly around the track, getting a little
faster each lap. By the
end of the 10 laps that they ran, the 2 youngest had their
cars wide open and had both passed the cars in front of them.
The smiles on their faces said it all!
